AROONA enables the implementation of video surveillance in hospitals
The Hospital of Digne-les-Bains, France
The issue
The Hospital of Digne-les-Bains wanted to install a video surveillance system and anticipate future needs. Installing multiple cameras on a local network requires a capacity often exceeding 1Gbps or even 10Gbps. The cabling infrastructure of the Hospital of Digne-les-Bains consists mainly of OM1 multimode fiber limited to 1Gbps, making it impossible to meet these requirements.
Because replacing the multimode fiber with single-mode fiber was not an option from a financial perspective, the Information Systems Department of Digne-les-Bains Hospital researched alternative solutions and selected the AROONA solution.
The AROONA solution
AROONA, the passive solution from Cailabs, made it possible to upgrade the existing multimode links to 10Gbps without touching the fiber.
The benefits of the solution
- 10Gbps throughput instead of a limit of 100Mbps
- Quick and easy installation, no civil works required
- Project autonomy
