AROONA serves digitization of patient information
Provins Hospital Center, France
The issue
The Hospital Center of Provins is in the process of digitizing patient information for all of their services. This requires large digital files to be accessible at all times across the entire campus. In particular, the OM1 fiber link between the core server and the psychiatric service, located 326 meters
[1070 ft] away in a remote building, does not support sufficient bandwidth and requires an upgrade. However, the Hospital Center cannot allow hospital services to be interrupted nor disturbed by construction work.
The AROONA solution
Cailabs’ passive solution AROONA enables a retrofit of the hospital’s existing fiber link, satisfying its need for minimal disruption: all vital services remained online and the absence of construction work avoided hindrance. This favorably differentiates AROONA from a new fiber deployment.
The benefits of the solution
- 4 x 10 Gb/s throughput instead of being limited at 100 Mb/s
- 3x less expensive than a new cabling deployment
- 3 hours of installation, no service interruption, no dust generated by installation
