Metal Processing
Scaling-up Metal Processing with Beam-shaping
By generating splitted beams, we can perform parallel micro-processing, enabling significantly faster processes (x9 ablation rate with 9 split beams). It allows the full power of the laser to be exploited with the shape preserved in the full field of view of the F-theta lens. By generating sharp top-hat reduced taper drilling is made possible too.
CANUNDA-USP for Metal Processing
Metal processing creates micrometric holes, crucial for example for the optimization of automotive engines, or for the precise insertion of electronic components. Beam splitting increased the micromachining rate in a micro drilling process by 42%, boosting productivity while maintaining the quality and flexibility of ultrashort pulse laser processes.
CANUNDA-USP is a laser beam-shaping module based on Cailabs’ patented Multi-Plane Light Conversion (MPLC) technology.
It can generate multiple shapes: sharp Top-Hat or splitted beams. CANUNDA-USP is specifically designed for the constraints of micro-processing and adapted to ultrashort pulse lasers such as femtosecond lasers. The fully reflective module is designed to withstand high-power femtosecond laser pulses with remarkable stability.
However, we also offer customized, flexible solutions to suit a variety of metal processing requirements (new beam-shapes, different spot sizes…). Each of our products is meticulously tailored to your industrial environment (scanner,), offering seamless compatibility with all types of pulse laser.
